COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to provide the clinician with tools for evaluation of client diet and nutrition, and to enhance the effectiveness of diet counseling.

 

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the conclusion of this course the participant will be able to:

 

1.      Review 2 diet-disease relationships and their associations with macronutrient substitution.

2.      Discuss the roles of activity and exercise in metabolic regulation.

3.      List 2 recommended weight management regimens and discuss the physiologic basis of each.

4.     Compare the effects of 3 major macronutrient groups on energy intake and expenditures.

5.      Critique a proposed new dietary guideline as to health and weight control expectations, based on your knowledge of macronutrient effects.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nurses, provider # 62-0079 for (1) contact hour.   Provider approved for California Licensed Clinical Laboratory Personnel by Accrediting Agency #0138 for (1) contact hour.   This course meets the requirements for CE for RCPS in California. (1) contact hour.
