COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to familiarize the learner with the effects and consequences of low thyroxine levels in pregnancy.

COURSE OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this course the participant will be able to:

  1. Review 3 indicators of thyroid dysfunction.
  2. Name 2 effects of low thyroxine on fetal development.
  3. List 2 recommended management regimens and discuss the current status of each treatment.

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nurses, Provider #02458 for (1)
contact hour. Provider approved for California Licensed Clinical Laboratory Personnel by
Accrediting Agency #0138 for (1) contact hour. This course meets the requirements for CE
for RCPS in California. (1) contact hour.
